Travelogue: A fun and quick trip to Malaysia

  1.

Back in summer 2019, I got a long vacation after my SSC exam. My family took the initiative to make my vacation special. They arranged a trip to Malaysia, a southeast Asian country, with some of my relatives. Sadly, it came toward the end of my break. As a result, we could only travel for five days. Nonetheless, it was among the best trips ever.

A thrill ride. Finally, on the scheduled day we boarded the Malaysia Airlines flight. Once floating in the cloud kingdom, we reached the capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur. Our trip to Kuala Lumpur took about four hours. However, we left for Langkawi before staying there. We landed in Langkawi Island after an hour. That was a beautiful day. The air felt so good. It relieved all of our fatigue. We then headed to our hotel.

According to Google(2023), Malaysia is a Southeast Asian country that includes the Malay Peninsula as well as the island of Borneo. It is well-known for its beaches, rainforests, and a cultural blend of Malay, Chinese, Indian, and European influences. Kuala Lumpur, the capital, is home to colonial structures, bustling commercial districts like Bukit Bintang, and skyscrapers like the 451m-tall Petronas Twin Towers.

    Langkawi!

Langkawi is one of Malaysia's northernmost islands. It is an archipelago of 99 islands, of which we are on the main island. It's crazy to think that we are this close to Thailand's border that we can even see our neighboring nation. It is located quite near to the sea and is a popular destination for travellers from all over the world. The deep waters and beaches fill the head with excitement at the moment.

    1.Mangrove Kilim Geopark

Mangrove Kilim Geopark was our first stop in Langkawi. We traveled by boat along the Kilim River's twists and turns, through the maze produced by aerial roots and thick fleshy leaves of mangrove trees. The mangrove trees and caves are must-sees in Langkawi during this calm boat journey out to the magnificent Andaman Sea. We went cave exploring as well.

2.Pentai Cenang

Pantai Cenang is Malaysia's most stunning beach in the Langkawi Islands. The magnificent blend of blue jade water, pure white beach, and fresh green palm palms draws travelers. We took a stroll in Pantai Cenang after exploring Geopark. We ate a large lunch, then went shopping before heading to the beach.

  1. 3. Sky Cab
  2. The cable car (also known as Sky Cab) on Langkawi was one of the most thrilling rides we had ever experienced. This ride to the top of Mount Mat Cincang took us to a height of 708 meters in about 15 minutes via the steepest cable car gradient in the world, with amazing views of the mountains, valleys, islands, and the Andaman Sea.

                                    Kuala Lumpur!

After visiting a few more attractions in Langkawi, we took a one-hour flight back to Kuala Lumpur. Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia's capital, is a growing, culturally diversified metropolis that is popular with travelers. Kuala Lumpur is a melting pot of Chinese, Indian, and Malay people, which explains why the food is delicious. The city is well-known for its skyscrapers and shopping malls, but there is so much more to see and do.

1. Batu Caves, the rainbow stair

We awoke rested after nearly eight hours of sleep. We had a quick breakfast and then grabbed a taxi to Batu Caves. We arrived shortly after 10 a.m., and it was already packed with people. The colorful steps, as expected, make this a popular destination that draws a large number of people. We walked upstairs and counted the amount of stairs. The Batu Caves are set within a towering limestone cliff. A massive gold-painted Murugan statue, 140 feet (42.7 meters) tall and built of reinforced concrete, lies near the bottom of a flight of 272 stairs.

2.Genting Highlands

Genting Highlands is a hill station and mountaintop city located at an elevation of 1,800 meters in the Titiwangsa Mountains of Pahang, Malaysia's central peninsula. It is roughly 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. Genting, hidden in the sky, is a popular Malaysian entertainment destination with amusement parks, resorts, golf courses, and dining and shopping options. We took another sky ride to get there, then walked into the complex and ate lunch.

There was even a strawberry farm full of strawberries and flowers.

3. The Patronus Tower

The Petronas Towers are Malaysia's most famous landmark and the world's second-highest twin structures. These 452-meter-high towers are illuminated in the dark to provide an even more stunning picture. The Petronas Towers can be seen from the KLCC Park, which is located on the backside of the towers. As a first-time visitor, I was completely blown away by the structure.

4. The KL Tower

Although the famous Patronus Tower is a taller skyscraper (452 meters), KL Tower holds the title for Southeast Asia's tallest freestanding tower (421 meters). It offers the most incredible night view. At night, we appreciated the view from our hotel rooms.

We spent a few more hours in one of the huge shopping malls in the evening. Kuala Lumpur was a shopping hotspot. I bought souvenirs, new clothing, dresses, and other items. We went to a few more sights, wandered around the streets, and ate a variety of local delicacies.

Our journey came to an end after five fantastic days. It was a fantastic little trip to Malaysia. There were many other locations we were unable to visit, but the whole trip was fantastic. Maybe someday we'll return to Malaysia with more time to explore and enjoy ourselves.
